Ithaca Wins Again; Tough Day for Rest of E8 Teams

The Ithaca College field hockey team (4-0) rolled through Morrisville Saturday afternoon, crushing the Mustangs by a score of 9-0 in the Bombers' first road contest of the season. Three Bombers tallied two scores a piece, including sophomore
Danielle Coiro, freshman
Kelly Consadine and freshman
Lauren Delia.
Sophomore
Katie Lass picked up the win to move to 4-0 on the year. Sophomore
Blaire Janney also saw time in net, playing the final 26:44 to close out the game.
Ithaca dominated throughout the contest, outshooting the Mustangs by a 62-1 margin. The Bombers registered 23 shots on goal and held Morrisville to zero shots on net. Ithaca recorded nine penalty corners in the victory.
Ohio Wesleyan 2, Houghton 1 (

The Highlanders field hockey team was defeated by the Battling Bishops of Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday.
Tyler Reese took advantage of a loose ball in front of the goal, scoring the one and only goal for the Highlanders. Reese's goal was not enough to give the Highlanders a win. They were out-shot 21-7 resulting in a 2-1 loss.
St. Lawrence 4, Hartwick 1 (

The visiting St. Lawrence field hockey team scored twice in less than four minutes in the first half and added two more scores in the second half as they defeated Hartwick 4-1 on Saturday morning at Wright Stadium.
Geneseo 3, Washington & Jefferson 2 (

Genseo scored off a penalty corner pass with 8:31 remaining to give the Knights a 3-2 field hockey victory over Washington & Jefferson on Saturday afternoon at Cameron Stadium.
The Presidents (2-1) suffered their first loss of the season after clawing back from an early 2-0 hole.
Cortland 4, St. John Fisher 0 (

The St. John Fisher College field hockey team came up short against SUNY Cortland, falling to the host Red Dragons 4-0.
The Red Dragons struck early and often, scoring the game's first goal midway through the first half before netting another only seconds before the halftime whistle sounded.
As the second stanza got underway, Cortland padded its lead, scoring its third goal on a penalty corner. The home team notched its fourth and final goal in the 65
th minute on a one-timer from the right side.
Oswego 2, Nazareth 1 (

The visiting Oswego State Lakers scored the first two goals of the game and held on to defeat Nazareth 2-1 in a non-conference field hockey match-up. The Lakers earned their first win of the season to improve to 1-2 while the Golden Flyers fall to 0-2.
Oswego scored just 12:27 into the first half for the early 1-0 lead. The Lakers scored their second goal of the game at 46:23.
Sibongile Chisi scored her first collegiate goal off an assist from
Maggie Muzio with just 1:57 minutes remaining in regulation to pull Nazareth within one, 2-1.
Kean 3, Stevens 0 (

The Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey team looked to be in control throughout the game but fell to Kean University, 3-0, on Saturday evening.
Kean came out firing, ripping five shots and winning four penalty corners before Stevens could get off its first attempt, but by then the damage had been done as the Cougars got on the board in the ninth minute when senior midfielder Korri Thompson beat her defender and smacked the ball into the goal for the 1-0 lead.
The Ducks quickly picked up their play, going on to outshoot the Cougars, 9-7, and force three saves of sophomore goalkeeper Katie DiCarlo in the first half. Stevens could not punch one through, however, while Kean added two more in the second half, with Thompson scoring the first and assisting on the second.
Senior defender
Megan Traub smacked 11 shots, four of which were on target and several more blocked on penalty corner attempts. Freshman goalkeeper
Emily Stukenborg made three saves in net, while DiCarlo managed five saves for the Cougars.
