St. John Fisher Fall Invite (
Fisher, Elmira, Stevens)
The nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College men's golf team is in first place after Saturday's first round of the Fisher Collegiate Invitational at Stafford Country Club.
The Cardinals, ranked 12
th nationally, shot a 298 and have a five-shot lead over Allegheny College.
Thad Wier led Fisher on the day with a 71, while
Chris Blyth carded a 73.
Corey Haas (76) and
Ryan McGinnis (78) rounded out the scoring for Fisher.
Elmira posted a team overall score of 332 at the St. John Fisher Fall Invite, ranking them eighth overall after day one.
The Stevens Institute of Technology men's golf team is in 10
th place after round one of the St. John Fisher Collegiate Invitational.
Junior
Cameron Hill led the Ducks with a score of 83, while senior
Charlie Johnston carded an 84 and freshman
Frank Szucs turned in an 85.
UTICA at St. Lawrence Invitational
The Utica College men's golf team shot a 344 Saturday on day one of the St. Lawrence University Invitational. Sophomore
Charles Coppola led the Pioneers with a round of 80.
Reigning UC Male Athlete of the Week sophomore
Ryan Stalker posted an 84 in the No. 2 spot while junior captain
Christian Leogrande fired an 86 in the No. 3 hole.
HOUGHTON at Grove City Invite
Evan Castle shot an 89 to lead the Highlander men's golf team to a fifth place finish at the Grove City College Fall Invitational.
All four Houghton scorers finished with five stroke of one another.
Jonathan Peck shot a 90, while freshmen
Paul Chapman and
Ryan Palmer each shot 94.
