Ithaca Posts Record Scores To Take Title at SLU

Elmira Finishes Eighth

CANTON, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College women's golf team won the team championship and Sharon Li was medalist at the St. Lawrence Invitational. The Bombers finished the two-day tournament with a team total of 631, a school record over two rounds. It was the first time that Ithaca has won the season-opening St. Lawrence event, which included a field of eight teams.

The Bombers closed the tournament with a team score of 320 in Sunday's second round under windy conditions at the Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course, which played to a par-72 at 5,820 yards. Li posted consecutive rounds of 2-over-par 74 to take the individual honors with a score of 148, four shots better than two players who tied for second.

Ithaca placed all five of its lineup members in the top-15 of the overall standings that featured 44 total players. 

Kelsey Baker was tied for fourth and posted 80 on Sunday. Lisa Calcasola scored 82 in the second round, the third-best total on the team. Amanda Failla shot 84 and Kimberley Wong scored 87 in Sunday's finale.

The Elmira College women's golf team improved in their second day of the St. Lawrence Invite after notching a 403 on day two to shoot a 814 overall team score to finish eighth. Briana MacDonald improved her 18 hole score by 11 strokes to finish with an 89 for the day and a 189 combined two-day score to finish tied for 30 overall.

Coming in next for the Soaring Eagles was Keira Glasheen who finished with a 93 today for an overall score of 194 to be tied for 34 overall. Reporting in next was Giovanna DeLoca who notched a 110 on the day and 214 total to finish 41. Elizabeth Paolucci checked in next with a 111 to have a combined total of 217 to finish 42, while Alyssa Lustenring finished today with a 113 to post a 229 overall and finish 44.
