Ithaca Leads St. Lawrence Collegiate Invitational after Day 1
Ithaca College has the first-day lead in the 2013 St. Lawrence University Collegiate Invitational golf tournament being held at the Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course.
Ithaca shot a school-record single-round team score of 311 to take a 13-stroke lead the 5775 par-72 layout with Sharon Li leading the way with a day one low score of 74. New York University is second at 324 with SUNY Cortland third at 326, Middlebury fourth at 327, St. Lawrence fifth at 353, Hamilton sixth at 370 followed by William Smith at 392 and Elmira at 411.
Kelsey Baker shot 76 and
Kimberley Wong posted 77 in her collegiate golf debut.
Amanda Failla rounded out the Ithaca scoring lineup with a score of 84.
Lisa Calcasola was the fifth member of the Bomber lineup and scored 85.
Taylor Reeves , playing as an individual, scored a career-best 81 including a front-nine score of 37.
Elmira's Briana MacDonald led the Soaring Eagles in the first day after notching in a 100.
Keira Glasheen '17 finished one stroke behind with a 101,
Giovanna DeLoca '17 turned in next with a 104.
Elizabeth Paolucci '17 finished next for the EC women with a 106, while
Alyssa Lustenring '15 penciled in a 116.
The tournament's second round is scheduled for an 8 a.m. shotgun start on Sunday at the Appleton Golf Course. Complete tournament stats and a recap will be available after Sunday's tournament conclusion.
