Indoor Track & Field Teams Open 2014 at NYC Gotham Cup
RESULTS
NEW YORK CITY (January 10, 2014) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's indoor track & field teams competed at the NYC Gotham Cup to begin the 2014 portion of its schedules at the Armory Track & Field Center. All three NCAA Divisions were on display at the meet along with unattached runners and clubs.
Points were only tallied at the meet for Division I institutions.
Junior
Robert Pinto (Staten Island, N.Y.) qualified for the ECAC Championships in the high jump with a cleared height of 1.99 meters (6 feet, 6.25 inches). Pinto finished fifth overall and was just two inches from moving into third in the event.

Louis Stengel (Verona, N.J.), junior
Andrew Parlette (Clarksville, Md.), sophomore
Troy Kanaszka (Metuchen, N.J.) and freshman
Michael John (Nottingham, N.J.) took fifth out of 11 teams in a time of 8:09.76.
Parlette also ran in the mile event and finished 19th out of 60 runners with a time of 4:29.96.
Senior
Cory Zegel (North Bergen, N.J.) competed in the weight throw and placed sixth with a throw of 12.84 meters (42 feet, 1.5 inches). Freshman
Daniel Jacome (Rockaway, N.J.) rounded out the men's side of the meet in the shot put with a 12th place showing and second in his flight. Jacome measured 13.32 meters (43 feet, 8.5 inches) to narrowly miss the school record of 13.42 meters.
Stevens will head to Middletown, Conn. on January 18 to participate in the Wesleyan University Invitational next. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
