Ithaca 63, Nazareth 54 (

The Ithaca College women's basketball team (12-4, 5-1 Empire 8) won its fourth straight game defeating Nazareth (6-9, 2-4 Empire 8), 63-54, Saturday afternoon at Kidera Gymnasium.
Ithaca scored the first bucket of the game and led the rest of the way. The Bombers, who had an 11-point margin at the half, led by as many as 17 in the second. Nazareth snuck within seven on three occasions, lastly at 2:46. The Bombers posted six of the final 10 points to hold off the host squad.
For the second game in as many days, Ithaca shot better than 45 percent from the floor connecting on 47.4 percent of its shots. Nazareth hit 31.0 percent. The Bombers outrebounded the Golden Flyers, 42-31.

St. John Fisher 77, Utica 63 (

Less than 20 hours after scoring just 42 points on Friday against Ithaca College, the Cardinals scored 44 points in the first half and earned a 77-63 win over visiting Utica College on Saturday afternoon at Fisher's Bobby Wanzer.
Leading 51-37 early in the second half the Cardinals went on a 13-0 run over the next two minutes, capped off by a
McKenzie Bezon 3-pointer, to take command of the game.
Gabby LaForce scored a layup at the 8:33 mark to give Fisher a 73-43 advantage, which would prove to be Fisher's largest lead of the game.

Stevens 90, Alfred 65 (

The Stevens Institute of Technology women's basketball team never trailed Alfred University on Saturday afternoon in Hoboken and came away with a 90-65 Empire 8 Conference win. Stevens scored 50 points in the first half and 40 more in the second period.
The Ducks (10-5, 3-3) matched their highest single game output since December 5, 2010 in a 90-31 win against the City College of New York. It is also just the fifth time since 2002 that a Stevens women's team has eclipsed 90-plus points in a game.
Stevens jumped out to an 11-2 lead over Alfred (5-9, 0-5) in the first three minutes and built up an 18-point edge by the time the Saxons reached double-digits at 27-9 with 11:41 to go. Alfred cut its first half deficit down to 13 points with 2:06 left in the half, 39-26, but Stevens went on an 11-3 run to close out the period with a 50-28 advantage.
In the second half, the Ducks led by as many as 31 points on two separate occasions and only allowed their cushion to dwindle below 20 points once at 52-33 just two minutes into the frame.

Hartwick 61, Houghton 40 (

Hartwick held its opponent to 40 points or less for the second straight night as it defeated visiting Houghton by a final score of 60-41 Saturday at Lambros Arena. The Hawks forced 21 turnovers in the contest and held the Highlanders to 34% shooting in the victory.
'Wick trailed by a score of 5-4 after a minute and half of play but quickly took the lead for good with 10 straight points inside the next three minutes to grab a 14-5 edge. The advantage was eight, 19-11, with 12 minutes left in the half but the Highlanders scored the next six to make it a two-point game, 19-17.
Hartwick held Houghton without a point for nearly five minutes and used a 10-2 run to go up by 10, 29-19. Veit and Stone had three-pointers in the spurt for the Hawks.
A
Jacqui Foreman layup with 1:11 left would give the Hawks their largest advantage of 12 heading into halftime up by a count of 33-21.
Any chance of a Houghton (4-11) comeback was dashed in the opening three minutes of the second half as the Hawks went 4-for-4 from the field and 2-for-2 from the line in an 11-2 run which handed them a 44-23 lead.
