Teams Compete at RIT/SLU/Ramapo and Wesleyan
Track and field teams were in action at the RIT Invitational, SLU Invitational, the Ramapo College Indoor Select and the Wesleyan University Invitational on Saturday.
RIT Invitational
Alfred junior
Miasia Hillman won the 60-meter dash in an ECAC-qualifying and school-record time of 7.95 seconds.
Hillman's performance in the 60 meters broke the school record she set last season. Also on Saturday, Hillman tied for first in the 200 meters in 27.07 seconds.
Nazareth juniors
Hannah Brackley and
Michaela Gildemeyer finished first and second in the 500-meter dash with times of 1:22.12 and 1:22.54, respectively. Sophomore
Gabrielle LeBihan was second in the mile run with a time of 5:23.
Ithaca had three top-10 finishes at RIT.
Kristina Stockburger placed fourth in the weight with a throw of 13.37 meters,
Amanda Zaput cleared 2.85 meters to finish fifth in the pole vault and
Lauren Hodge ran an 11:28.08 3,000 to finish10th.
St. John Fisher College freshman Catharine Wilbur was second in the triple jump at 10.38 meters.
Freshman
Sydney Saccone finished third overall in the 500. She set a new SJFC record with a time of 1:23.73. Fellow freshman
Sammy Van Gee was third overall in the 5,000 at 19:23.
Paige Willson finished second with a distance of 11.43m in the shot put and
Joanna Vassiliou also capped a 14.27m hurl in weight throw with a second place finish.
Indoor Select
Stevens sophomore
Amy Regan finished first overall in the 3,000-meter run in a time of 9:47.59 which was 10 seconds faster than the next closest runner. Regan broke her own school record by 27 seconds and set the NCAA Division III facility standard. Her time is also the fastest performance in DIII this season and is a qualifying mark for ECAC's. If her time stays within the top 17 nationally at the end of the season, Regan will compete in the NCAA Indoor Championships.
In the high jump, sophomore
Gladys Njoku matched her school record with a first place performance and cleared the bar at 1.70 meters (5 feet, 7 inches). Njoku's mark stands as the second highest jump in DIII.
Ithaca's Hannah Wright placed fourth with a 5:16.66 mile run.
Harmony Graves placed sixth in the 400-meter dash to meet the ECAC qualifier with a time of 59.37.
Wesleyan Invitational
Stevens freshman
Victoria Taibe posted a second place finish in the shot put with a throw of 10.55 meters (34' 7.5") and sophomore
Brianna Marchal took third with a mark of 10.36 meters (34 feet).
Taibe also competed in the weight throw event and took third with a toss of 12.73 meters (41' 9.25"). Freshman
Melissa Gibbons participated in the 400-meter dash and finished third in a time of 1:04.94.
SLU Invite
Utica sophomore standout
Ashton Villeneuve won the women's 5000-meter run posting a time of 19:13.54.
Senior
Anastasia Bowden led the UC sprinters with a third place finish in the 200-meter dash clocking an ECAC time of 26.51.
