E8 Summit to Take Place this Weekend
The eighth annual Empire 8 Student-Athlete Summit is being held at the Woodcliff Hotel and Spa in Fairport, NY. The event will run Friday evening, January 24th through Saturday afternoon, January 25th.
Nearly 55 representatives (student-athletes, Administrators, Coaches and Vice-Presidents) from all nine Empire 8 institutions will invade the Woodcliff to build camaraderie between E8 schools.
The Empire 8 is pleased to be welcoming Spencer Wood as the keynote speaker to address the Summit attendees. Wood is an internationally renowned speaker and dynamic trainer of athletes and coaches in the areas of cutting-edge Mental Skills & Toughness Training; and Athletic Speed, Agility, & Quickness training.
With a PhD in sport psychology, Wood is a perennial speaker at the Nike Football Coach of the Year awards, the NCAA Basketball Final Four, the American Baseball Coaches national conference, and numerous other high-profile athletics events. He also works with athletes at the US Olympic Training Center as well as countless colleges and universities.
The participants at this years Summit will look to attain the tools through Wood’s presentation to perfect their mental skills and work on them daily as they do with their physical fundamentals.

Summit attendees will also be taking part in round table discussions, a DiSC assessment, Minute-to-Win-it activities and create an action plan to share/implement what they learned when they return to their campuses.
