Hawks, Bombers and Golden Flyers Beat Opponents

NAZARETH v UTICA
The Golden Flyers defeated the Pioneers 181-56 on Saturday in a dual meet.

Senior Maura Reissig was part of three winning events. She finished first in the 50 freestyle (:29.19) and the 200 IM (2:34.65) and was part of the winning 200 medley relay (2:10.14). Sophomore Kimberly Pedrotti and seniors Karisa Kobel and Emily Sauter also competed.

Pedrotti had strong swims in winning the 200 butterfly (2:42.70) and the 200 breaststroke (2:53.63). Other winners were freshman Kaitlyn Hoag in the 1- and 3-meter diving with scores of 183.30 and 178.15 respectively; freshman Lillian Masters in the 800 free (10:08.07); sophomore Renee Stromski in the 200 free (2:21.30); freshman Autumn Hunter in the 100 backstroke (1:12.45); junior Brittany Friedrich in the 100 breaststroke (1:22.04); Sauter in the 100 free (1:01.73); freshman Elizabeth Carro in the 200 backstroke (2:35.54); senior Amanda Rogers in the 400 free (4:58.27); Kobel in the 100 fly (1:13.16) and the foursome of Kobel, Rogers and seniors Mallorie Dygert and Megan Wade in the 200 free relay (1:59.12).

Utica freshman Mikey Maxwell registered two wins in the 200 medley (2:50.07) and the 100-yard fly (1:17.57) to pace the women.


ITHACA v ALFRED
The Ithaca College women's swimming and diving team cruised to a 206-90 win over Alfred Saturday afternoon, finishing first in 12-of-16 events.

The Bombers started off with a top spot in the 200-yard medley relay, as the team of Grace AyerSamantha ReillyMegan Zart and Lake Duffy finished in a time of 1:52.26.

Ayer continued to pull in top finishes for the Bombers individually, earning first place in the 200-yard butterfly (2:12.85) and the 400-yard individual medley (4:38.26). Duffy also earned an individual first for Ithaca, pacing the field of 12 in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.95.

Brenna Dowd took first with a time of 11:11.38 in the 1000-yard freestyle, while Megan Buisman earned the top spot in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.14.

Michelle Heidgerken finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing in a season best time of 1:14.59. Miranda Wingfield took the top spot with a time of 2:25.15 in the 200-yard backstroke, while Meredith Wells paced the field of six in the 200-yard breaststroke with a finishing time of 2:37.08.

Nickie Griesemer swept both diving events for the women, taking first in the 1-meter with a score of 275.65 and first in the 3-meter with a season-best score of 295.35. Lyndsay Isaksen rounded out the top finishes for the women, taking first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.89.

Alfred freshman Dylan Staniszewski had two wins to pace the Saxons (3-5), while junior Chrissy Behr had one. Staniszewski won the 200 freestyle (2:01.56) and 500 free (5:24.64) and took second in the 400 individual medley (4:54.99). Behr won the 50 free (25.72), was second in the 100 backstroke (1:04.09) and third in the 100 free (57.40).


HARTWICK v ST. LAWRENCE
The Hartwick men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed in the final home meet of the season on Saturday afternoon at Moyer Pool. Both squads came out with victories as the men won 130-82 while the women prevailed 128-101 over St. Lawrence.

Imma Rutigliano touched the wall first in two events to lead the women's team. Rutigliano had victories in the 200 IM (2:19.40) and the 100 back (1:04.48).

Gwen Mathias came in first place in the 1650 free (18:24.27). Other winners for the women were Rachel Bellis in the 200 free (2:03.54), Lindsay Bierwert in the 100 fly (1:02.42), Kaitlyn Campbell in the 500 free (5:22.79) and Clare Nelson in the 100 breast (1:11.10).

Much like the men's relays, the women took first in both relay events. The 200 medley relay team of Rutigliano, Nelson, Bierwert, and Kelsey Elliot had a winning time of 1:55.65. The 200 free relay squad of Breann Jefferds, Campbell, Helen Merkley, and Bellis swam a time of 1:46.79 to claim victory.

Diver Lindsay Bowker easily took both diving events. She posted scores of 219.45 and 251.90, respectively, in the one and three-meter diving competitions. Bowker will compete at the Ithaca Diving Invitational tomorrow morning.
