STEVENS
The Stevens Institute of Technology men's indoor track & field team competed at the Springfield College Indoor Invitational on Saturday and finished sixth as a team with 45 points.

The Ducks' top showing at the Invitational was a second place showing by the 4x200-meter relay team. Sophomores Shane Chiaravalle (Danbury, Conn.) and Tom Halloran (Oakland, N.J.), junior Robert Pinto (Staten Island, N.Y) and senior Walter Goodwin (Floral Park, N.Y.) combined to run a time of 1:35.45. They trailed Ramapo's relay team buy just .36 for first in the event and qualified for ECACs.

Chiaravalle also competed in the 200-meter dash and took third overall in a time of 23.49 seconds, while Goodwin placed eighth in same event in 23.86 seconds. Halloran finished eighth overall in the 400-meter race with a mark of 53.70 seconds.

Halloran and Chiaravalle were also on the third place 4x400-meter relay team that clocked a time of 3:36.11. Sophomore Zach Andrews (Fairport, N.Y.) and freshman Brian Fratto (Winchester, Mass.) ran the other two legs of the race.

Andrews crossed the line in 1:28.37 to claim third overall in the 600-meter in his other event.

Junior Andrew Parlette (Clarksville, Md.) participated in the 3,000-meter run and placed third with a time of 9:08.38. Sophomore Zach McKeehan (Mount Union, Pa.) posted a time of 2:43.21 in the 1,000-meter run for fourth overall, while freshman Michael John (Nottingham, N.J.) also came in fourth in the 800-meter race in 2:02.90.

Although the results did not officially count, the team of junior Matthew Bombard (Wayne, N.J.), freshmen Bradford Smith (Brick, N.J.) and Tyler Reed (Hamilton, N.J.), and junior Thomas Cunningham (Colonia, N.J.) placed fourth overall in the 4x400 with a time of 3:36.46.

NAZARETH
The Golden Flyers' traveled to the SPIRE North Coast Open meet in Geneva, Ohio. In the men's competition, senior Jake Lafaver placed fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:56.82.

In the men's field events, sophomore Luis Rivera was fifth in the 35-pound weight throw with a throw of 14.84 meters (48 ft, 8 1/4 in.) while classmate Khiary Gayle was seventh in the triple jump with a leap of 12.2 meters (40 ft., 3/10 in.). In the shot put, sophomore Brandon Vuolo was ninth with a throw of 12.67 meters (41 ft., 6 41/50 in.).

Top performances for Nazareth on the track included a seventh-place finish for the Golden Flyers' 4x400-meter relay team of Jake and Zack Lafaver and freshmen Jenoy Merchant and Matt Battaglia. The relay team finished in 3:34.96. In addition to Jake Lafaver's 800-meter performance, Zack Lafaver was 13th (2:00.83), and freshman Jacob Murray was 20th (2:03.86).

In the 5,000-meter run, sophomore Patrick Neureuter was eighth, and Tom Lannon was ninth with times of 17:23.56 and 17:57.47, respectively. Also, Richardson Pierre was 12th in the 60-meter dash with a time of :7.38 seconds, while senior John O'Malley placed 21st in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.48 seconds.

ST. JOHN FISHER
More records fell for the St. John Fisher College men's indoor track and field team at the Hamilton College Continental Invitational on Saturday.
 
Brandon Fuentes set a new Fisher record and qualified for the ECAC Championship in the triple jump.  The sophomore cleared 13.50 meters and placed fifth overall in the event.
 
Fisher's 4x400 meter relay team (Will SterrickerDevin CorneliusDylan Cassidy and Trevor Wilkes) set a new College record with a time of 3:31 and placed second overall in the event.  Eric Riley was third overall in the high jump at 1.93 meters.  Kyle Koehler also took third in the shot put 13.00 meters.

Devin Cornelius was ninth overall in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.31 seconds.  Cornelius was also fifth in the 400 with a time 52.34.  Sterricker also placed seventh overall in the 60 hurdles after placing second in his preliminary heat.

ITHACA
The Ithaca College men's track & field team competed Saturday at Cornell's Upstate Challenge at Barton Hall. The Bombers faced six Division I schools and one fellow DIII school.

Ithaca had a trio of ECAC qualifiers and seven top 10 performances on the day.

Sophomore Aaron Matthias (Rye, N.Y./Rye) raced to a sixth-place finish in the 200-meter dash. He hit the ECAC qualifier with a 22.73 finish. Junior Dennis Ryan (Coventry, R.I./Coventry) raced to an ECAC qualifier in the 1,000 run. He placed seventh crossing the finish line in 2:33.97. ClassmateRashaad Barrett (Bohemia, N.Y./Connetquot) again met the standard in the 60 dash placing ninth in 7.10.

Freshman Sean Phillips (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) narrowly missed the qualifier in the mile run clocking in at 4:26.08. Senior Brennan Edmonds (Ithaca, N.Y./Charles O. Dickerson) placed seventh in the 400 dash in 51.92.

The Bombers had three top-10 finishers in the field events. Senior Brendan Wilkins (Pawcatuck, Conn./Stonington) cleared 1.89 meters in the high jump to place ninth. Placing 10th, seniorChristian Stremmel (Grantville, Pa./Lower Dauphin) had a 12.77-meter heave in the shot put and sophomore De'Marquis Graves (Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca) had a mark of 13.25 meters in the triple jump.

UTICA
The Utica College men's indoor track & field team competed at the Hamilton College Continental Invitational at Bundy Field House on Saturday.

Sophomore Frank Volino (Syracuse, NY/CNS) edged teammate Shane Ruffing (Rochester, NY/Westborough) in the men's 60 meter hurdle finals to take home a first place finish. Volino posted a time of 8.39, while Ruffing came in with a time of 8.57. UC's Andrew Hoover (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) also advanced to the finals and finished in fifth place with a time of 8.88.

The team of Corey Zlatniski (Mattituck, NY/Mattituck)Jamie McNamara (Gloversville, NY/Mayfield)Erik Winberg (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) and Sam Anderson(Brantingham, NY/South Lewis) placed second in the 4x800 meter relay with a time of 8:29.23.

Sophomore Kyle Cairns (Midland Park, NJ/Midland ) placed eighth in the one mile run with a time of 4:33.46, while junior Corey Zlatniski (Mattituck, NY/Mattituck) placed ninth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 52.89.

UC sophomore Sam Anderson (Brantingham, NY/South Lewis) placed sixth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:03.33, while freshman Sam Bonk (Williamsville, NY/Clarence) placed 10th in the men's shot put with a toss of 12.91 meters.

HOUGHTON
Four members of the Houghton indoor track and field team reached NCCAA national qualifying standards with their performances at the Spire North Coast Open on Saturday.
