The Ithaca College women's soccer team moved up five spots in the national rankings on Tuesday. The Bombers are now No. 20 in the latest release of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America National Poll. Ithaca is 10-2-0, including a mark of 5-1-0 in conference play.

Nazareth College (9-3-1, 4-1) fell from the top-25, but is still among teams also receiving votes.

The Bombers went 2-0 last week, defeating Utica, 4-0, and Nazareth, 2-1 in overtime.

Empire 8 Offensive Player of the week, junior Kelsey King scored twice in the Utica victory, while sophomores Lindsey Parkins and Jocelyn Ravesi each chipped in with one goal. Junior goalkeeper Beth Coppolecchia stopped the only shot she faced in the contest for her seventh shutout of the season. Ithaca dominated in total shots, recording 21 to Utica's four.

King and Sarah Woychick each scored for Ithaca, while junior goalkeeper Beth Coppolecchia stopped 4-of-5 Nazareth shots in the victory. The Bombers had the advantage in shots, recording 15 to Nazareth's one. They also held a slight edge with six corner kicks to the Golden Flyers' five.

Nazareth defeated visiting Hartwick 3-1 Saturday afternoon before the overtime game against Ithaca Sunday.

Sophomore Michaela Soules had a part in each of the Golden Flyers' goals against Hartwick with an assist on both of the goals by graduate student Christine Belding before scoring her fourth goal of the season in the final minutes of regulation.

Nazareth tied the score with Ithaca with just 6:40 remaining in regulation as junior Briana Vibbard scored her team-leading fifth goal after settling a pass from Kaitlyn Sowyrda. Ithaca then had the only two shots of overtime, including Woychick's game-winner.

The Bombers return to action on Saturday, Oct. 18 in a road battle with St. John Fisher. Start time is scheduled for 2 p.m.

Nazareth's next game is Oct. 18 at Stevens at 2 p.m.
