Connecticut College Invitational Team Results | Individual Results
The Stevens Institute of Technology men's cross country team placed sixth overall with 162 points out of 18 institutions at the Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday in Waterford, Conn.

Five Stevens runners placed within the top 60 out of 212 total runners at the meet on the 8K course. New York University claimed top honors as a team with 64 points, followed by the United States Coast Guard Academy, Connecticut College, Keene State University and SUNY New Paltz.

The Ducks were edged out by nine points for fifth by New Paltz.

Sophomore Nicholas Zickgraf (Kenilworth, N.J.) paced Stevens with a third place finish individually with a time of 25:54 which sets a personal best. Zickgraf earned all-invitational honors for her performance.

"Nick Zickgraf ran a great race, he got out into a great position and then moved up late to grab third place. The time of 25:54 is a personal best and 32 seconds faster than he ran here last year. He's starting to turn into the front runner that we've been needing and I only expect him to get better as the season goes," said Wood.

Freshman Greg Arabagian (Morristown, N.J.) completed the course next for Stevens in 25th with a time of 26:46, while senior Thomas Cunningham (Colonia, N.J.) took 32nd in 26:54.

Sophomore Chris Banko (Aberdeen, Md.) clocked a time of 27:12 to come in 45th overall and senior Andrew Parlette (Clarksville, Md.) placed 57th with a time of 27:26.

The top seven for Stevens was rounded out by sophomore Drew Knipfer (St. Joseph, Ill.) and senior Kevin Barresi (Little Silver, N.J.), who placed 85th and 93rd. Knipfer finished in 27:55, while Barresi clocked a 28:01.


Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble FULL RESULTS
After a week off, the St. John Fisher College men's cross country team was back in action at the Inter-Regional Rumble held in Oberlin, Ohio.  Facing difficult course conditions the men finished in 26th place out of 40 teams over the 8 kilometer course.
 
Evan Magnussen turned out his best race of the season running to a 94th place finish with a time of 27:06.7.
 
Freshman James Felice was the second finisher for the Cardinals running 27:47.1 to place 129th.  Luke Dunkelberger notched a quality performance as well finishing in 148th place in a time of 28:15.9 .
 
Dan Cleary and Alex Schmitt rounded out the scoring for Fisher finishing in 175th and 193rd place in times of 28:50.5 and 29:19.7.


Cross Country Only Conference Championship
Hartwick's cross country team competed at the Cross Country Only Conference Championships today in at Seneca Lake State Park in Geneva. The 'Wick men finished third as a group.
           
The CCOC was created by long time William Smith coach Jack Warner as a championship race for competitive cross country teams that do not fully support track and field. 
           
The Hartwick men finished with 85 points, short of only first-place Clarkson (27) and SUNY ESF (59). The Hawks beat out 11 other teams on the day.
           
The Hawks' Gavin Jenkins (Holbrook, NY/Sachem East) was the top finisher on the day for the Hawks with an impressive third-place effort. He covered the 8K in 27:04.3 in a field that featured 144 competitors.  
           
Matt Loignon (Plainfield, VT/U-32) and Chris Shaw (Averill Park, NY/Averill Park) both earned top 15 finishes as well for the Hawks. Loignon placed thirteenth with a time of 27:26.8. Shaw was two spots behind, less than four seconds after, in 27:31.5.
           
Tim Mahony (Syosset, NY/St. Dominic) was 35th and Cody DeBernardis (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) was 40th at the event.
