AU drops road meet at RIT
ROCHESTER, NY — The Alfred University men's swimming and diving team lost a 137-106 decision at RIT Saturday afternoon.
Seniors
Dave Coombes (Dansville, NY/Dansville) and
Zac Toth (Lockport, NY/Starpoint) each won two individual events and AU won both relays as the Saxons fell to 1-1 in dual meets this season.
Coombes won the 200-yard freestyle (1:46.33) and 100-yard freestyle (48.10) and Toth won the 200-yard individual medley (2:03.45) and 10-yard butterfly (54.13). Senior
David Luke (Ocala, FL/West Port) took the 50-yard freestyle (21.53) for Alfred's other individual win.

Jake Olson (Dansville, NY/Dansville), senior
Jeff Rowland (Rochester, NY/Hilton), Toth and Luke teamed to win the 200-yard medley relay (1:40.07), while Luke, senior
Joseph Rogers (Dublin, NH), freshman
Joe Lawrence (Clarence Center, NY/Clarence) and Coombes won the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:28.08).
Other top performers for the Saxons were, freshman
Alec Toth (Lockport, NY/Starpoint), second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:40.20) and 100-yard backstroke (57.15); Rogers, second in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:09.48; and Lawrence, second in the 10 butterfly (54.69).
AU is in action next on Friday, Nov. 14, at 6 p.m. at home against Fredonia.
