The Ithaca College volleyball team continued its hot streak on Friday night with a 3-0 straight-set victory over Alfred. The win pushes the Bombers' overall record to 12-3, including an impressive mark of 4-0 in the Empire 8. Ithaca's 3-0 victory over the Saxons marks the fourth-straight contest the Bombers have not dropped a single set.
 
The Bombers rolled in the shutout, sweeping the Saxons 25-11, 25-21 and 25-16. Senior Rylie Bean led all players with 11 kills. Freshman Caroline Gerulskis ranked second on the team with seven kills, while classmate Joelle Goldstein contributed six.
 
Freshman Kayla Gromen recorded 33 assists, accounting for all but one in the three-set victory. Junior Captain Dylan Gawinski Stern paced the Bombers with 14 digs. Sophomore Maggie Mutschler contributed 11 digs, while Gromen and Bean each chipped in with eight.

Alfred freshman Heather D'Andrea had six kills and 17 digs and freshman Aubrey Totsline had 16 assists to lead AU. Freshman Jacquelynn Hicks had eight kills and a pair of blocks and senior Taylor Kiernan had 12 digs.
 
Ithaca returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 4, as the Bombers take on Houghton and Utica in back-to-back conference contests. Ithaca's match against Houghton starts at 11 a.m. 

AU plays a pair of Empire 8 matches Saturday, Oct. 4, at St. John Fisher. The Saxons take on Stevens at 12:30 p.m. and Fisher at 3 p.m.
