Day One Complete at ECAC Division III Mid-Atlantic Men’s Golf Championship
The St. John Fisher College men's golf team, ranked No. 12 in the latest national coaches poll, shot a 292 on Saturday at Blue Heron Country Club and has a 20-stroke lead after the opening round of the 2014 ECAC Upstate Championship.
The final round of the championship will begin Sunday morning at 10.00 a.m.
Chris Blyth is in first place after one round, thanks to a 71.
Hogan Cuny (73),
Corey Haas (74),
Karl Deuble (75) and
Devin Solar (75) rounded out the scoring for Fisher.
Sophomore
Joel Jakubowicz, competing as an individual, also shot a 73.
The Elmira College men's golf team carded a 323 today to place tied for sixth.
Evan Clarke '16 led the Soaring Eagles with a 76 to place tied for ninth.
Jarryd ten Vaanholt '16 followed Clarke with an 80 to finish tied for 24th while
Jessy Lawson '16 finished tied for 27th with an 81.
Troy Gordon '15 tallied an 86 to finish tied for 45th while
Brandon Payne '17 posted a 91 to place tied for 55th in today's action.
Junior
Sean de Herder shot 82 to pace the Golden Flyers, who sit 10th in the team standings with a score of 349. St. John Fisher leads the field with a score of 292.
de Herder's score on the par-71 layout put him in a tie for 33rd place individually. Fisher's Chris Blyth posted the best score with a 71. Other competitors for Nazareth were junior

Andrew Lund (90) and Danieol Strack (90) and junior
Zachary Moore (94).
Utica College struck a 366 Saturday in round one and are currently in 11
th place led by junior captain
Ryan Stalker who turned in an 86. Stalker is currently tied for 45
th after and has placed first for UC in all tournaments this Fall. Freshman
Matthew Haley finished second for Utica and 55
th overall shooting a 92 after the first 18 holes of tournament play. Junior
Robert Broccoli fired a 93 placing third for UC.
