The Ithaca College football team moved up to 13th in the latest D3football.com and American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division III poll, which reflect games through Saturday, Oct. 4.

St. John Fisher College is still ranked in the Top-20 after a 37-34 overtime loss to Salisbury. The Cardinals sit at No. 15 in the d3football.com poll and No. 19 in AFCA.

It is the third consecutive week that Ithaca has moved up the polls, and is Ithaca's highest ranking in the D3football.com Top 25 poll since the Bombers were ranked eighth following the first week of the 2009 season. Ithaca began the 2014 season ranked 23rd in the preseason poll and has increased its ranking by 10 spots.

The Bombers are 4-0 overall and stand alone in first place in the Empire 8 with a 3-0 conference record. There are 36 undefeated teams remaining out of 242 NCAA Division III teams. Ithaca ranks ninth in the nation in scoring defense, as Ithaca has allowed just 39 points through four games, a 9.8 points-per-game average.

Salisbury University scored a touchdown with 18 seconds left in regulation and sealed the win with a 16-yard touchdown run in overtime, as the visiting Sea Gulls stunned Fisher in a pivotal E8 Conference matchup.

Fisher falls to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in E8 play.

Salisbury is among teams also receiving votes in both polls.
