ST. JOHN FISHER 2, Oswego 0
The St. John Fisher College field hockey team defeated non-conference opponent Oswego State 2-0 on Tuesday. With the win, the Cardinals move to 8-3 on the season, while the Lakers drop to 3-7.

In the first 35 minutes, Fisher fired 17 shots toward Oswego's goalkeeper Sarita Charap, yet the scored remained 0-0 at the end of the first half.

That would soon change, as Emily Markarian would score her seventh goal of the year just a minute and a half into the second half. The freshman settled a ball off of a Laker deflection and slid it past Charap.

Stacie Skidmore provided Fisher with an insurance goal with just two minutes remaining in regulation time. Alexandrea Malley tallied the assist after she found Skidmore within the arc for her ninth goal of the season.

Danielle Famolaro made four saves in the full 70 minutes in goal.

Kenyon 5, W&J 1
The Presidents dropped their third-straight game with a 5-1 loss at Kenyon in non-conference action.

The loss drops the Washington & Jefferson field hockey team to 7-5 on the season while Kenyon improves to 11-2 this year.

The hosts opened the scoring late in the 15th minute with a goal by Weezie Foster. W&J's Gina Taglieri knotted the game, 1-1, just over 15 minutes later on a shot where she collected the rebound and shot it back in to score. The tie was short lived, however, as Foster scored 2:04 later to put Kenyon back ahead heading to halftime.

Three goals were scored in the second half, all by the Ladies, and the Presidents dropped the non-league game.

Morgan Brozena suffered the loss, allowing both goals in the first half before yielding way to Karlie Baran in the second half, but Brozena returned late after Baran surrendered three scores in 29:50.

Union 5, HARTWICK 1
Hartwick scored the first goal of the game 5:33 into the match but Union would tie it and rally for four goals in the second half in a 5-1 victory over the Hawks in non-conference field hockey at Wright Stadium.

Claudia Stone scored her fifth of the season after a nice feed from the side from Mikaelan Stuligross. Stuligross served a hard cross from the right side to Stone, who one-timed the ball into the far corner for the Hartwick lead.

The Hawks had other chances to increase their lead but were denied each time by goalkeeper Laura Aptowitz. Stone had a clear shot with less than 24 minutes left in the half that Aptowitz made the save on.

Mckenzie Bond had another shot stuffed less than three minutes later. With under 10 minutes left in the opening half, Stone had a breakaway that was blocked once again by Aptowitz.

The Dutchwomen got on the scoreboard with 5:33 remaining in the half. Hannah Najar served in a penalty corner which was one-timed to Hartwick keeper Yanna Boggio's right and in for the tying goal.

Union would hold a slim 8-7 edge in shots for the opening 35 minutes.

Najar would score what would prove to be the game-winning goal 4:27 into the second half. The Hawks couldn't clear the ball in their own circle and Najar pounced on it and fired in Union's second tally of the day.

Sarah Medd pushed the advantage to two 3:11 later as she finished off a cross from Allison Troy.

'Wick had a chance to pull within one as Stone broke free. Aptowitz again made the timely stop to keep the lead at 3-1.

Jessie Mulvey scored Union's fourth goal from Hannah Madden. Sayyida Hasan finished out the scoring with 1.3 ticks left on the game clock. Danielle Melia assisted.

The Dutchwomen held a 13-3 edge in shots in the first half to finish with a 21-10 advantage.

Boggio made eight saves in 53 minutes. Jilian Sabatino played 14 minutes in cage and Laura Downey made on save in the final 3:28.
