The Nazareth College and Ithaca College women's soccer teams are representing the Empire 8 in the national rankings.  The Golden Flyers stand at No. 21, followed by the Bombers at No. 25 in the latest release of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America National Poll.

Nazareth is 8-2-1, including a mark of 3-0 in conference play. After receiving votes last week, the Golden Flyers went 1-0-1. Nazareth battled the University of Rochester to a scoreless draw on Tuesday and then defeated Elmira, 3-0, on Saturday.  Senior Elizabeth Howell scored two goals and junior Danielle Wilkin also scored for Nazareth all in the second half.

Nazareth continues conference play with two games this wekeend. The Golden Flyers host Hartwick Saturday at 12 p.m. and travel to Ithaca Sunday at 2 p.m.

Ithaca (8-2, 3-1) dropped five spots to No. 25 after a 1-1 week. Ithaca recorded a lopsided victory over Marywood Wednesday afternoon, as the Bombers defeated the Pacers by a score of 7-0. The Bombers then lost a close game with Stevens Institute of Technology Saturday afternoon, falling to the Ducks by a score of 1-0. 
 
Ithaca is back on the road for its next contest, as the Bombers head to Utica to take on the Pioneers on Saturday, Oct. 11. Scheduled start time is 12 p.m.
