Ithaca Defeats Cortland, 196-91

CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's swimming & diving team defeated Cortland Saturday night, dropping the Red Dragons by a score of 196-91 in the road meet.
 
The men started strong with a win in the 400-yard medley relay. The team of Logan Metzger, Aidan Hartswick, Lucas Zelehowsky and Addison Hebert finished first, touching the wall in 3:34.53.
 
Hartswick earned another top finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, taking first with a time of 1:00.81. He rounded out his day with a second individual first-place finish, completing the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:17.75. Metzger added to the group's accolades with a first place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (22.00).
 
L. Zelehowsky also had an impressive individual performance during the meet. He finished first in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:04.74, and followed that with the top spot in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 54.45.
 
Adam Zelehowsky accumulated three top finishes on the day, starting with first place in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing in a time of 1:45.11. He followed with the top spot in the 100-yard freestyle, touching first in 48.22. He closed with the top spot in the 200-yard individual medley, finishing in 2:01.86.
 
Ben Kennedy swept the backstroke events, taking first in the 100-yard backstroke (56.63) and 200-yard backstroke (2:05.44). Matt Morrison also swept, taking first in both diving events. He scored a 298.50 in the 1-meter before recording a 253.50 in the 3-meter.
 
The Bombers return to action on Nov. 22, as they hit the road for a tri-meet with Hamilton, Hartwick and Geneseo.
