Ithaca Stays Undefeated With 207-93 Victory
CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's swimming & diving team moved to 4-0 on the season with a 207-93 win at Cortland.
The team of
Kylie Bangs,
Samantha Reilly,
Grace Ayer and
Lake Duffy started the meet with a win in the 400-yard medley relay, finishing in 4:07.56.
Ayer would go on to two individual victories, starting with the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:00.52. She also took first in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:32.67. Bangs followed suite, also earning two individual wins. She started with the 100-yard backstroke at 1:02.04, before claiming the top spot in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:14.36.
Duffy also saw individual success later in the day, taking first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.25. She completed the freestyle sweep with the top spot in the 100, completing the race in 56.37. Reilly contributed with a win in the 100-yard breaststroke, touching first in 1:10.93.
Nickie Griesemer split the diving events for Ithaca. She placed second in 1-meter with a score of 219.45, before claiming the top spot at 3-meter with a score of 280.95.
Nilza Costa followed with a first-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle, completing the race in a time of 10:57.74.
Megan Buisman rounded out the individual swimming performances, finishing the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:20.46 for the win.
Ithaca closed the meet with another relay victory, as the team of Duffy,
Christine Zulkosky, Reilly and
Lauren Cox finished first overall in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:47.86.
The Bombers head to Hamilton for their next meet on Nov. 22, as they will compete in a tri-meet with Hamilton, Hartwick and Geneseo.
