Visiting Fredonia defeats Saxon women

ALFRED, NY – Fredonia defeated the host Alfred University women's swimming and diving team, 150-90, Friday evening in Lebohner Pool.
 
Senior Chrissy Behr (Surf City, NJ/Southern Regional) and sophomore Dylan Staniszewski (Oakton, VA/Oakton) were both double winners and swam on the winning 200 free relay to pace the Saxons.
 
Behr won the 50 free (25.07) and 100 free (54.78) and Staniszewski took the 200 free (2:00.88) and 500 free (5:28.35). Behr, freshman Elizabeth Schiffhauer (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca East), junior Kelsey McRill (Solon, OH/Solon) and Staniszewski won the 200 free relay in 1:43.70.
 
Other top performers for the Saxons were: sophomore Samantha Brown (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport), second in the 200 fly (2:30.67) and junior Allison Derwallis (Fairfield, CT/Fairfield Ludlow), second in the 200 back (2:23.78).
 
Freshman Megan Steen (Portsmouth, RI/Portsmouth), senior Molly Blair (Auburn, NY/Auburn), sophomore Leah Zimmerman (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua) and Brown were second in the 200 medley relay (2:02.63).
 
AU is in action next on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 1 p.m. at Pitt-Bradford.
