NCAA Berth For Runner Sawyer Hitchcock
ITHACA, N.Y. -- Ithaca College men's cross country junior
Sawyer Hitchcock will participate in the NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championship on Saturday, Nov. 22 at The Golf Center at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio. Hitchcock earned his place as one of 56 individual runners to be invited to the championship race. The first seven athletes from each region who are not a part of a qualifying team, were selected to participate in each championship. Hitchcock finished ninth overall at the Atlantic Regionals on Saturday in Rochester.
It is Hitchcock's second-career invitation to the NCAA meet as an individual. He competed in the 2012 race as a freshman at Terre Haute, Ind. and placed 149th in a field of 280 runners with a time of 26:01.
The men's championship race will take place Saturday at 11 a.m. at The Golf Center at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio. Further information on the championship is available at the
