Ithaca WXC Earns NCAA Selection

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College women's cross country team received an at-large berth to the NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championships and will compete in the national meet Saturday, Nov. 22 inĀ  It is the third year in a row that Ithaca has earned an at-large bid to the NCAAs. It is the 22nd time in program history that Ithaca will compete for the team championship.

In its most recent competitions at the nationals, Ithaca finished 30th in 2012 and 23rd in 2013. Ithaca has finished in the top 10 at the NCAAs 10 times in its previous 21 appearances, and 21 times, Ithaca individuals have earned all-America honors, incuding Jenn Randall last year. Ithaca placed fifth in the NCAA Atlantic Regionals on Saturday at Rochester. The top-two teams from each of eight regionals earned automatic qualification to the national meet. Another 16 teams awaited word on at-large selection and that came Sunday afternoon for the Bombers.

The championship race will take place Saturday at The Golf Center at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio. Further information on the championship is available at the championship websiite. The championship is hosted by Wilmington College and the Warren County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
