Utica senior Hannah Mackey was named the 2014 Longstreth / NFHCA Division III North Atlantic Region Player of the Year.

This marks the second time in three years that a Pioneer was named the Regional Player of the Year, as Louise Steele-Norton earned the honors in 2012.  Mackey, who was also named the Empire 8 Conference Player of the Year, had a remarkable senior campaign that saw her set new conference single-season records for goals (36) and points (80).  She averaged 1.71 goals per game, which ranks third in the nation.  She is making her fourth straight appearance on the All-Region team; including the third consecutive year she was named first team All-Region.  Mackey wrapped up her career as Utica's all-time leader in goals (84), points (199), and game-winning goals (23). Only eight players in NCAA Division III history scored more goals than Mackey did this season.

The Pioneers wrapped up their best season ever with an 18-3 record, their third straight Empire 8 Championship and UC earned a berth in the NCAA tournament for the third year in a row.  18 wins set a new program record for wins in a season.  This year's squad also set a new team record for points (232) and goals (92) in a season.
