NEW ORLEANS, La. - Stevens Institute of Technology junior runner Amy Regan made program history by being named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's women's athlete of the year.
Regan has won seven races this fall including this past weekend's NCAA Atlantic Region where she finished 21 seconds better than the second place finisher. Prior to that, Regan took the top spot in the Empire 8 Championship, the Haverford Invitational, and the Saratoga Invitational. Regan's win in the Empire 8 made her the first three-time winner in conference history.
Regan will return to the course on Saturday where she'll compete in the NCAA Division III Championship in Mason, Ohio. At this race last season, Regan finished sixth.
