Empire 8 won three ECAC bowls this affternoon with St. John Fisher, Buffalo State and Salisbury posting W's to end their seasons.
ECAC South Atlantic Bowl
Salisbury 48, Albright 27
In their final game as an Empire 8 member, Salisbury routed Albright College 48-27 behind three TD's from Jarome Johnson who finished with 128 yards. Connor Canonico also eclipsed the 100-yard threshold with 129 and a TD as the Seagulls piled up 484 yards on the ground and 551 yards of total offense while holding Albright to 12 yards rushing. Salisbury finishes 7-4 and placed in a three-way tie for second in E8.
ECAC Northwest Bowl
Fisher 28, WCONN 14
Tony Fusco piled up 173 yards rushing including a 65-yard scamper for a TD for the Cardinals who ran for 245 yards on the afternoon while holding WCONN to 74 yards rushing. Chris Smith toted the ball for 61 yards and two TDs for Fisher as well. Defensively Fisher forced seven turnovers with four sacks and three interceptions. The Cardinals finish the 2014 campaign 9-2 and Empire 8 Co-Champions.
ECAC Southwest Bowl
Buffalo State 59, Waynesburg 36
The Bengals finish the season with another high scoring affair to capture the ECAC Southwest Bowl title.
NCAA Tournament
Hobart 22, Ithaca 15
The Bombers squandered a 12-0 lead and fell on the road to Hobart 22-15 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Statesmen scored on their final drive of the game to take the lead and seal the win. Ithaca forced four first half turnovers to take a 12-0 lead at half. The Bombers managed just 212 yards of offense. Defensively Sam Carney collected two interceptions and Mark Recio and Kenneth Bradley finished with 13 tackles. The Bombers finish 7-4 on the year and Empire 8 Co-Champs.
ECAC North Central Bowl
Morrisville 52, Utica 41
In a high scoring bowl match up Utica put up 41 points and 372 yards of total offense. Morrisville will join Empire 8 in 2015 providing yet another high-octane, tough member. Utica finshes the year 7-4 and finsihed second in the Empire 8.
