LANCASTER, Pa. (November 23, 2014)
– The sixth-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology men's swimming team won the 2014 Franklin & Marshall College Invitational Sunday, cruising to a comfortable win over nine other schools.
 
The Ducks broke the 1,000-point mark, notching 1,005.5 at the three-day, five-session meet. Washington & Lee University was second with 609.5 points and Saint Vincent College was third (454).
 
In total the Ducks had a very strong weekend, recording many NCAA cut times, meet records and setting two new school-marks as well.

Prelims
Freshman James Betz, freshman Connor Harrigan and sophomore Conner Arnott swept the top-three spots in the 500-yard freestyle, with freshman Ethan Gehenio and junior Ravi Sun going one-two in the 200-yard backstroke. Gehenio's finish was good for an NCAA B-cut and set an F&M Invite meet record.
 
Junior Tomasz Wolinski carded a B-cut in the 100-yard freestyle, placing second behind a time of 45.41. Betz was sixth.
 
Freshman David Duque (second), junior Joshua Lefeber, sophomore Alex Chen and junior Dane Pilcher all were in the top-eight in the 100-yard breaststroke prelims, as senior Price Hu, Arnott and senior John Rees went two-three-four in the 200-yard butterfly.
 
Sun won the 200-yard IM with a NCAA B-cut and new meet-record time of 1:53.20, and he was followed by Lefeber and senior Alex Xu.
 
Finals
Harrigan won the 500-free and picked 20 team points to open the fifth and final session (4:37.56). Betz took second and Arnott was third in an excellent race for the Ducks.
 
Sun re-broke his meet-mark in winning the 200-back, clocking an NCAA B-cut and new Stevens school-record time of 1:47.19. Gehenio placed second with a B-cut of 1:52.30, as sophomore Doug Sholander took fourth.
 
Wolinski notched an NCAA B-cut in placing second in the 100-free (45.64), and the rookie Betz brought home 11 team tallies by finishing eighth.
 
Lefeber, Duque and Chen went one-three-six in the 100-yard breaststroke. Lefeber set a new invite record with a 57.00, pocketing another B-cut in the process. Hu, freshman Brennan Maxwell and Arnott went one-two-three in the 200-fly finals as Hu's finish was good for 20 points and an NCAA B-cut. Maxwell also notched a B-cut, touching the wall at 1:52.89.
 
Sun picked up another personal and team win in the 200-yard individual medley, carding a meet record 1:51.68 and picking up another NCAA B-cut. Lefeber finished second with a 1:51.97 which would have been good for a meet record and was an NCAA B-cut.
 
The Ducks closed the day with a meet-record time of 3:04.32 in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The group of Wolinski, Gehenio, Rees and Lefeber won the event by almost two full seconds. The group of Duque, Pilcher, Sholander and Xu took fourth as the two foursomes combined to bring in 74 team points.
