Ithaca Competes At Hamilton
CLINTON, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's swimming & diving team went 2-1 on Saturday in Hamilton's annual quad meet. The Bombers defeated Hamilton by a score of 202-98, before dropping Hartwick, 218-80. Ithaca was edged out by Geneseo, 153-147. The day's results move Ithaca's record to 7-1 on the season.
The Bombers opened the day with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of
Kylie Bangs,
Samantha Reilly,
Christine Zulkosky and
Lake Duffy earned the top spot with a time of 1:52.56.
Bangs also recorded an individual first place finish on the day, touching first in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:11.03. Not to be outdone, Duffy placed first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.94.
Grace Ayer continued her strong season with the top spot in the 100-yard backstroke. Ayer touched first in 1:00.92, just edging out Bangs and her time of 1:01.47 in third place. Ayer also placed first in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing in 2:33.32. She rounded out her day with another first-place finish, touching first in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:13.33.
Nickie Griesemer swept both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. She scored 251.80 in the 1-meter, followed by a 281.60 in the 3-meter.
The Bombers are back in action on Dec. 6 when they host the Bomber Invitational at the A&E Center Aquatics Pavilion.
