Men’s Swimming & Diving Athlete – Stevens
Ravi Sun, Junior – Arkadelphia, Ark./Arkadelphia
Junior Ravi Sun helped Stevens to a win in the Franklin & Marshall College Invitational this weekend, besting nine other schools. Sun set a school and meet-record in the 100-back with a time of 49.63. He helped the Ducks to a win and B-cut in the 200-medley relay (1:32.15) and won the 200-back with a meet record and school-record time of 1:47.19. Both his backstrokes were good for NCAA B-cut times, as was his winning and meet-record in the 200-yard IM, carding a 1:51.58. The Ducks cruised to the title scoring 1,005.5 points which was almost 400 points better than second place.
Women’s Swimming & Diving Athlete – Stevens
Brittany Geyer, Senior – Brunswick, OH/Walsh Jesuit
Senior Brittany Geyer led Stevens to a win at the F&M Invitational this past weekend. Geyer won the 200-yard breaststroke with a, clocking a B-cut and setting a new meet-record (2:17.67). She keyed a second-place finish for the 800-yard freestyle relay squad (7:52.94), and did the same for the 200-medley relay team (1:48.24). Her 1:04.23 was good for a meet-mark and NCAA B-cut in the 100-yard breaststroke, winning the event by more than three seconds, and she tallied another first in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:08.53.
Men’s Basketball Player – Utica
Conor Maisch, Senior, G/F – Kingston, NY/John A. Coleman
Senior Conor Maisch averaged a team-best 18.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game in a 1-2 week for Utica. He broke a 22 year old Utica College record and tied the University of Rochester's Palestra Gymnasium record with nine 3-pointers as the Pioneers topped New Paltz 84-72 in the first round of the Chuck Resler Tournament on Friday afternoon. Maisch finished the night with 29 points against New Paltz. He added 16 points in the Pioneers season-opener against Cortland and he also chipped in with 11 points against U of R on Saturday night. He made 14-of-28 3-pointers in the three game stretch and he also shot 47.6% from the floor.
Men’s Basketball Rookie – Hartwick
Jake Sinicki, Freshman, F – Endicott, NY/Maine Endwell
Jake Sinicki averaged 8.7 points and five rebounds in a 2-1 week for the Hawks. He began the week with five points and a game-high six rebounds against Division I Binghamton on Tuesday and followed it up with a 10-point, three-rebound showing in a victory over previously unbeaten Eastern Connecticut State on Friday. He wrapped up the week on Saturday with career-highs of 11 points and five steals with six boards in a victory over SUNY Cobleskill which helped clinch the Holiday Inn Classic title. For the week, Sinicki shot 64% (9-of-14) from the floor, 40% (2-of-5) from three-point range, and 86% (6-of-7) from the free-throw line to go along with seven steals, four blocks, and four assists.
Women’s Basketball Player – Utica
Bridget Greenwald, Graduate, F – Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills
Forward Bridget Greenwald averaged 11.8 points, 11.0 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game as the Pioneers went 2-2 to open the season last week. She scored 10 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and added three steals in the Pioneers’ win over SUNYIT on Saturday. She added 19 points and 13 rebounds in a victory at Keystone on Sunday. She also posted 10 points and eight rebounds in the season opener against Oneonta on Tuesday night.
Women’s Basketball Rookie – Elmira
Danielle Cleary, Freshman, G – Rochester, NY/Our Lady of Mercy
Danielle Cleary had another strong weekend of play as she helped EC to their first win of the season, averaging 14.0 ppg, 4.0 rpg, and 4.5 apg. In the opening game against the University of Dallas, Danielle scored 11 points, grabbed three rebounds, and recorded five assists. Then, in game two against Centenary College (LA), Danielle scored a team-high 17 points, while also adding five rebounds, and four assists.
