Student-athlete performances continue to show quality as the Cross Country championships are now in the books and the regular seasons for field hockey, soccer and volleyball wrap up. Those earning honors for the week of Oct. 27-Nov. 2 include:

Football Offensive Player – St. John Fisher
Mike Collichio, Sophomore, WR – Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder
 
Mike Collichio finished with eight catches for a career-high 174 yards with two touchdowns to help Fisher tally a season-high 583 yards of total offense in a 35-25 win over visiting Buffalo State College on Saturday.
 
He has now recorded a touchdown reception in each of the past six games. The wide receiver gave Fisher the lead for good with 12:39 remaining in the second quarter when he caught a 33-yard pass from Fenti. He also tallied the game's final points with another 33-yard pass.
 
Football Defensive Player – Frostburg
William Sewell, Sophomore, DL – Silver Spring, MD/James H. Blake
 
William Sewell totaled nine tackles, including seven solo stops, in the 35-21 win over Hartwick on Saturday. However, it was his work behind the line of scrimmage that garnered the most attention as he added season highs in both sacks (2.5) and tackles for loss (3.5).
 
Football Special Teams Player – Alfred
Trevor Monk, Freshman, PK – Liverpool, NY/Liverpool
 
Trevor Monk keyed the Saxons to a come-from-behind 23-21 conference win at Salisbury on Saturday. With AU trailing 21-20, Monk booted a 22-yard field goal as time expired to give the Saxons the win.
 
Field Hockey Offensive Player –  Stevens
Dailyn Brook, Junior, Forward – Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill
 
Junior Dailyn Brook became the fourth player in program history with 100 career points, leading Stevens to a 6-0 win over Nazareth with a career-best four goals and eight points. Brook scored the teams first two tallies, and banged in goals four and five as well. Her first marker gave her 101 points for her career as the junior keyed the Ducks' conference-tournament-berth-clinching victory.
 
Field Hockey Defensive Player – Houghton
Elizabeth Piszker, Freshman, Goalie – Glens Mills, PA/Cardinal O’Hara
 
Elizabeth Piszker had 18 saves against SUNY Brockport in a 2-1 overtime win and two saves in a 1-0 win verse Washington and Jefferson to earn her second shutout of the season.
 
Men’s Cross Country Runner – Ithaca
Sawyer Hitchcock, Junior – Fishers, IN/Hamilton Southeastern
 
Sawyer Hitchcock was the first runner to cross the finish line at the Empire 8 Championships on Nov. 1 out of 87 competitors. His first place finish helped Ithaca to earn its fifth straight Empire 8 Championship title. Hitchcock completed the course in 26:00.1 to be named Runner of the Meet.
 
Women’s Cross Country Runner – Stevens
Amy Regan, Junior – Green Brook, NJ/Watchung Hills
 
Junior Amy Regan became the first student-athlete to ever win three consecutive Empire 8 Conference titles on Saturday at Saratoga Springs State Park. Regan clocked a time of 17:03 on the 3.04-mile course to establish a new meet record and beat the next closest runner by 53 seconds. Regan's time was also 26 seconds faster than the old meet record. In all, 89 runners ventured the conference championship course. Since her freshman year, she has shaved 1:06 off her original championship time back in 2012 of 18:09.
 
Men’s Soccer Offensive Player –  Utica
Bita Gazashvili, Freshman, Forward – Tiblishi, GA
 
Freshman forward Bita Gazashvili netted two goals in the first 12:32 of play on Saturday to give the Pioneers an early lead that they would not relinquish as they went on to beat Alfred 4-1 to secure a spot in the Empire 8 Conference Tournament for the third time in the last five years. Gazashvili headed into the contest with just two goals on the entire season and he matched his season's effort in the course of just 8:17 early in the contest Saturday.
 
Men’s Soccer Defensive Player –  Houghton
Tyler Inch, Junior, Defender - McAllisterville, PA/East Juniata
 
Tyler Inch anchored the defense in both shutouts this week as the Highlander defeated Roberts Wesleyan, 4-0, on Tuesday and Elmira, 4-0 on Saturday. He recorded an assist in each game off corner kicks.
 
Women’s Soccer Offensive Player –Elmira
Danielle Fournier, Senior, Goalie – Southborough, MA/Worcester Academy
 
Danielle Fournier returned to the field after her one game appearance in net and had the best offensive performance of her career, scoring two goals and assisting on another in Elmira’s 4-0 win over Utica. Her five-point performance led Elmira to a plus-.500 finish in the regular season for the first time since 2004.
 
Women’s’ Soccer Defensive –  Nazareth
Allison Dobles, Sophomore, Goalie – Spencerport, NY/Spencerport
 
Allison Dobles helped the Golden Flyers close out their regular-season schedule last week with a 0-0 tie at William Smith and a 2-1 victory at Skidmore. She had several key stops and finished with a career-high 11 saves overall in the game at William Smith for her fifth shutout of the season. Then after yielding an own goal in the opening minute of play against Skidmore she finished with three saves in the win over Skidmore.
 
Women’s Volleyball Player –  Nazareth
Jennifer Hicks, Junior, Middle Blocker – Greenville, NY/Greenville
 
Jennifer Hicks helped the Golden Flyers to four wins in five matches last week as she posted a .458 hitting percentage (41-8-72) with 21 blocks. She hit .474 (11-2-19) in a five-set loss to Brockport, then .471 (10-2-17) with seven blocks in a four-set victory over Geneseo. In five sets against Kean at the NY Regional Challenge, she hit .438 (8-1-16) with five blocks and then .667 (9-1-12) with three blocks in a three-set sweep of NYU.
 
Women’s Volleyball Rookie –  Houghton
Anna Coryell, Freshman, Setter – Phelps, NY/Midlakes
 
Anna Coryell dished out 107 assists in Houghton’s three match week. She also served six aces, had four kills, three blocks and 30 digs. She earned two double doubles – against both Buffalo State and Alfred University.
 
Men’s Swimming & Diving Athlete  –  Nazareth
Dan Burke, Junior – Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker
 
Dan Burke won three events Saturday to pace the Golden Flyers to their first swimming and diving victory of the season with a 171-127 win over Brockport. Most noteworthy for Burke was a school-record clocking of :59.48 in the 100-meter backstroke. He also won the 200-meter backstroke (2:10.53) and the 200-meter IM (2:16.53).
 
Women’s Swimming & Diving Athlete  –  Nazareth
Kimberly Pedrotti, Junior – Syracuse, NY/West Genesee
 
Kimberly Pedrotti won three events for the Golden Flyers in Saturday's 163-135 dual-meet loss to Brockport. Pedrotti was first in the 800-meter freestyle (10:00.56), 200-meter IM (2:39.04) and 200-meter fly (2:40.35).
