SJFC Ranked No. 15 by D3football and AFCA
The St. John Fisher College football team is ranked No. 15 in both national polls, which reflect games through Saturday Nov. 1. The Cardinals stayed at No. 15 in the D3football.com Top 25 and moved up one spots to 15th in the American Football Coaches Association Division III Poll.
Fisher (7-1) racked up a season-high 583 yards of total offense in the 35-25 win over Buffalo State Saturday and can now clinch the Empire 8 Conference title with a win next Saturday, Nov. 8 at 1 p.m. at home against Ithaca College (6-2, 5-2). The Cardinals have now gone over 500 yards of total offense in each of the past three contests.
Fisher's
Mike Collichio finished eight catches for a career-high 174 yards and two touchdowns, while freshman
Tony Fusco rushed for 158 yards and one touchdown on a career-high 29 carries.
Quarterback
Tyler Fenti threw for 318 yards on 21-on-30 passing with two touchdowns and one interception – his first interception in 212 attempts, dating back to last year's national quarterfinals. He also rushed for 52 yards and two touchdowns.
Ithaca is among teams also receiving votes in both polls.
