SJFC Competes at RIT Invitational
The St. John Fisher College men's track and field squad completed their last meet of the semester at the RIT invitational Thursday.
Peter Girardi started strong for Fisher improving on his time from the weekend to win the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.66 seconds. The freshman came back later in the day to run to a second place finish in the 400-meter dash at 52.17.
Mark VanMarter jumped to a first place finish in the long jump at 6.71 meters.
The Cardinals had a solid showing in the shot put as
Kyle Koehler eclipsed the school-record with a throw of 15.15 meters, good for an ECAC qualifying mark.
Brandon Naylor hurled his throw 12.35 meters to earn a fifth place finish.
Joe D'Agostino blistered to a fourth place finish in the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.32.
Fisher has nearly a month layoff until its next meet, which will be January 9 at Cornell University.
