Cardinals Impress At RIT Invitational
The St. John Fisher College women's track and field squad completed their last meet of the semester at the RIT invitational Thursday.
Melissa Vaughn started off the meet strong, finishing in first place in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 9.35, breaking her school-record set last week when she finished in a time of 9.52. It was also an ECAC qualifying mark.
Morgan Mastin raced to a second place finish in the 60-meter dash, finishing in 8.30 seconds before following that up with a third place mark in the 200-meter dash (27.25).
Mastin was also a part of the 4 x 200 meter relay that included
Chelsea Grupp,
Chelsea Cleveland, and
Jessica Colmerauer which qualified with an ECAC mark of 1:50.23 for a third place finish.
Paige Willson won the shot put in an ECAC qualifying mark of 12.35 meters.
After already breaking her school record from last week once in the meet,
Taylor Youngkrans went on to do it again with a mark of 15.87 meters in weight throw.
In other field action,
Megan Vona earned a second place finish in the triple jump at 10.13 meters.
Fisher has nearly a month layoff until its next meet, which will be January 9 at Cornell University.
