Four Receive ECAC Division III Metro-Upstate Honors

Nazareth senior Maria Allocco earned Offensive Player of the Year honors, while Nazareth sophomore Madi Wickens and Stevens Institute of Technology sophomore Mary Tobin and freshman Sydni Horner were named to the ECAC Division III Metro/Upstate Second Team.
Allocco, an AVCA Second Team All-American, was dominant for the Golden Flyers in 2014, posting 416 kills, 67 service aces and the second-best hitting percentage in the country of .420. The senior middle blocker was named Empire 8 Player of the Year and closed out her career with three Empire 8 titles and three NCAA Tournament appearances, while amassing 1,339 kills, 211 service aces and 336 total blocks. Allocco was a two-time ECAC Division III Metro/Upstate Volleyball Player of the Week.
Wickens amassed 1,208 assists in 2014 to rank second in the Empire 8. She ranks fifth all-time in assists with 2,064. She also ranked second on the team with 62 service aces and third in digs with 237.
Tobin was excellent for the Ducks, hitting .270 and recording 474 kills this season. She averaged 4.05 points per set, 3.62 kills per set and 1243 total attacks. Tobin eclipsed double-digit points in 31 matches this season, tallying double-digit kills 27 times. The second-year Duck also had 404 digs on the year to go along with 30 blocks.
Horner leads the Ducks in digs per set, averaging 4.98, and her 648 total digs also paced the squad. That number puts her 20th nationally and second in the Stevens' single-season record book. Horner has eclipsed 20 digs 12 different times this season, recording a season-high 40 on September 20 against Houghton College.
