Ducks Place Second at ECAC Championships

EAST MEADOW, N.Y. (December 7, 2014) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's swimming team placed second at the 2014 ECAC Championships in East Meadow, N.Y.
New York University won the event with 1,883.50 points, and Stevens was second with 1,327.50. DI foes Siena College, St. Francis College and Manhattan College were third fourth and fifth as a total of 13 institutions competed for the crown.

April Lawson started the day by earning a second in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:56.01 (56 points). Freshman
Danielle Caruso won the 500-yard freestyle, turning in a 5:05.90 and tallying 32 points. Junior
Elizabeth Heinbach was fifth with a 5:12.65.
Senior
Nicole Miller's 24.84 in the 50-free was good for fifth place and she was followed by junior Jenn Rutledge and Lawson in seventh and eighth.
McClure picked up a third and 27 points in the 200-yard individual medley (2:11.39), and she was joined in the top-eight by freshman
Sarah Jurczyk.
Closing the meet was the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Lawson, Miller, Rooker and Caruso. That group combined for a second-place finish and a time of 3:33.09.
Stevens will now break for finals before heading to California for a training trip and meet with Pomona-Pitzer.
