Men’s Basketball Player – St. John Fisher
Chaz Lott, Sophomore, Guard – Wynantskill, NY/CBA
Chaz Lott played a big role in Fisher's three wins last week as the Cardinals beat Utica 92-69 and Houghton 89-59 before dropping Ithaca 81-71. Lott was on fire, shooting a combined 24-for-35 from the field (69%) while averaging nearly 20 points, five rebounds, six assists and over three steals. He scored 14 points on a perfect 5-of-5 from the floor Tuesday against Utica and notched a career-high in assists with 10. Lott also recorded four steals for the Cardinals. Lott scored 16 points against Houghton to go along with five rebounds, three assists and three steals. On Saturday the sophomore guard scored a career-high 29 points and notched five rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Men’s Basketball Rookie – Alfred
Tyler Seelman, Freshman, Guard – Lorton, VA/Hayfield Secondary
Tyler Seelman helped the Alfred University men's basketball team secure two wins this week, as the Saxons defeated Stevens 100-88 and Hartwick 105-98 after suffering an 80-67 loss to Elmira earlier in the week. Seelman scored 22 points (8-of-14) in Alfred’s first ever win over Stevens and then notched 25 points (10-of-20) against Hartwick.
Women’s Basketball Player – Elmira
Jessica Zoltowski, Senior, Guard – Erie, PA/Harbor Creek
Jessica Zoltowski broke a 32-year old record as she became Elmira’s all-time leading scorer as she averaged 21.3 points in three games. The senior shot 54.0 percent (20-of-37) from the field and 87.5 (21-of-24) from the charity stripe over the course of the three games. With 21 made free throws in the last three games, she is now tied for first in college history for career free throws with 340 as well as single-season free throws with 115.
Women’s Basketball Rookie – Ithaca
Erin Ferguson, Freshman, Forward – Berkeley Heights, NJ/Governor Livingston
Rookie Erin Ferguson helped Ithaca to a 3-0 week averaging 7.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per game, while playing just 13.0 minutes per contest. She hit 11-of-15 shots from the floor good for 73.3 percent accuracy.
Men’s Indoor Track Athlete – St. John Fisher
Joe D’Agostino, Sophomore – Honeoye Falls, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima
Joe D'Agostino had a record-setting afternoon for the St. John Fisher College track and field team at the Valentine Invite in Boston, MA. D'Agostino shattered the program-record in the 200 meter dash, crossing the finish line in 22.94. The sophomore sprinter beat out over 100 competitors including many from top-level Division I institutions. His time currently ranks second overall in the NYSCTC.
Men’s Indoor Field Athlete – Stevens
Robert Pinto, Junior – Staten Island, NY/Monsignor Farrell
Junior Robert Pinto finished first overall in the multi-divisional Boston U. Valentine Invitational in the high jump with a mark of 2.06 meters (6 feet, 8.25 inches). Pinto set a new school record in the process and currently ranks 11th in Division III.
Women’s Indoor Track Athlete – Stevens
Amy Regan, Sophomore – Green Brook, NJ/Watchung Hills
Sophomore Amy Regan established a new personal best and school record by 28 seconds in the 5,000-meter race. Regan now holds the second fastest time in Division III with her time of 16:55.59 and placed seventh overall out of 78 runners in the multi-divisional race. She also ran a leg on the DMR time that set a new school record with a time of 12:35.57.
Women’s Indoor Field Athlete – Utica
Sarah Wiatr, Sophomore – Poland, NY/West Canada Valley
Sophomore Sarah Wiatr, of the Utica College women's track and field team's, posted a first place finish Saturday in the triple jump at The College at Brockport. Wiatr leaped to a school-record 11.51 meters and moved into sixth place on the NCAA Division III Qualifying List.
