Academic All-America team

TOWSON, Md. -- Nazareth senior forward Brad Ford has been honored once again on the Capital One Academic All-America ® Division III men's and women's basketball team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Ford was one of five Division III players selected to the first team. Rich Bonney of Hobart, John Coleman of Clarkson, Mark Ghafari of Kalamazoo and Dane Jobst of Worcester State were the other recipients. Ford was a second-team selection last season. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or better. Ford was a first-team All-District selection earlier this month and that automatically placed him on the national ballot.

Ford, of Victor, N.Y. and a graduate of Victor High School, has been a four-year standout for the Golden Flyers, evidenced by his career totals in points (1,437) and rebounds (907), categories in which he ranks sixth and second respectively all-time at Nazareth. For the 2013-14 season, Ford leads the Golden Flyers (16-7 overall) in scoring at 18.5 points per game; in rebounding at 10.3 per game; and in steals with 41. He has posted 14 double-doubles (points-rebounds) this season to elevate his career total to 38. He has twice been honored this season as Empire 8 Player of the Week and last season was selected as a second-team E8 all-star.

In the classroom, Ford holds a grade-point average of 3.83 as a Business Administration major with concentration in Human Resource Management. He officially graduated in December and is taking graduate classes this semester. He was named to the Empire 8 President's List.
