Bombers and Hawks Rise in Regional Rankings
The Ithaca College and Hartwick College women's basketball teams continue to be two of six teams ranked in the East Region. The Bombers jumped to the top spot of the poll while the Hawks rose from sixth to fifth this week. Five of six teams remain in the poll from last week's version, but each one finds itself in a different slot as quite a bit of movement took place.
Vassar climbed from third to second. New York University, last week's top ranked team, fell to third after suffering two losses in the last seven days. Plattsburgh State registered a 1-1 week, but stay ahead of Hartwick in fourth.
William Smith completed the rankings in sixth. The Herons are the lone newcomer to the poll after Buffalo State dropped out after being the fourth ranked team last week.
The Bombers are on a 12-game winning streak will conclude regular-season action Saturday, Feb. 22 at Alfred.
Hartwick plays at Houghton on Friday, February 21 before returning home for Senior Day on Saturday, February 22 against Elmira College.
