Rochester, NY (February 21, 2014) – The Utica College men's track and field team competed at the Orange and Brown Invite Friday hosted by RIT at Gordon Field House.

Corey Zlatniski (Mattituck, NY/Mattituck) led the men's squad with an ECAC qualifying victory of 67.82 in the 500 meter dash and also placed third in the 1000 meter with a time of 2:36.54.

Rayshawn Scoot posted another victory in the high jump leaping 2.03 meters while Shane Ruffing (Rochester, NY/Westborough) and Frank Volino finished second and third in the 60 meter hurdles with mirror times of 8.53, both topping the ECAC qualifying standard.

Post-season play opens up next weekend as UC heads to St. Lawrence University for the 2014 NYSCTC Championships. The two-day event runs Friday, Feb. 28th through Saturday, March 1st and will be held at the Newell Field House in Canton, NY. Friday's events kick off at 3 p.m. while Saturday's are set for 10 a.m.
