UC Indoor T&F Wraps Up Regular Season at RIT

Rochester, NY (February 21, 2014) – The Utica College women's track and field team competed at the Orange and Brown Invite Friday hosted by RIT at Gordon Field House.
Ashton Villeneuve (Holland Patent, NY/Holland Patent) got back to her winning ways with a first place tally in the 5000 meter run to pace the Pioneers with an ECAC qualifying time of 18:35.01.
Senior
Anastasia Bowden (Monticello, NY/Monticello) finished second in the 200 meter dash with an ECAC clock of 26.30 while
Brenna Stewart (Southborough, MA/Algonquin) placed fourth also qualifying for ECAC's with a time of 26.81.
Bowden and Stewart teamed up with
Sheila Ramos (Haverstaw, NY/North Rockland) and
Nikiya Harris (New York, NY/Cardinal Spellman) for a win in the 4x200 meter relay finishing with a time of 1:46.35.
Alexis Edwards (Ilion, NY/Ilion) took second in the shot put with a toss of 12.07 meters, good enough for her first ECAC qualifying mark.
Post-season play opens up next weekend as UC heads to St. Lawrence University for the 2014 NYSCTC Championships. The two-day event runs Friday, Feb. 28th through Saturday, March 1st and will be held at the Newell Field House in Canton, NY. Friday's events kick off at 3 p.m. while Saturday's are set for 10 a.m.
