Graves Sets School Record as Bombers Compete at BU's Valentine Invitational

Valentine Invitational Results | Bomber Quad Results

BOSTON, Mass. – The Ithaca College women's track & field team competed Friday night at the Boston University Valentine Invitational and the Bomber Quad Meet hosted in Ithaca's own Glazer Arena. Junior Harmony Graves (Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca) set the 200-meter dash school record with a 25.45 performance to place 35th out of 212 competitors. She rewrote Marcia McCord's record of 25.52 set on Feb. 26, 2011.

Ithaca met 13 ECAC qualifiers, highlighted by three in the 200 and four in the 3,000. In the 200, Graves was followed by sophomore Christine Kelly (Stone Ridge, N.Y./Rondout Valley) with a 26.45 performance and junior Rachel Friedman (Stone Ridge, N.Y./Rondout Valley) who finished in 26.90. Junior Alexa Rick (Elyria, Ohio/Elyria Catholic) led the Bombers in the 3K. She finished in 10:20.14, junior Emily Smith (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) followed in 10:31.71, junior Meghan Cass (Huntington Beach, Calif./Edison) crossed the finish line in 10:41.03 and sophomore Anna Fay (Marlow, N.H./Keene) was the fourth Bomber to finish in 10:43.03.

Emilia Scheemaker (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough) hit a pair of ECAC marks in the jumping events. She placed ninth out of 77 athletes in the long jump with a leap of 5.40 meters and hit 11.06 meters in the triple jump.

Sophomore Eliza Dewart (Barker, N.Y./Barker) raced to a 1:00.08 finish in the 400 and junior Leigh Martino (Windsor, N.Y./Windsor Central) clocked a time of 1:20.27 in the 500.

Junior Alex Rechen (Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury) cleared 3.50 meters in the pole vault to place fourth out of 37 and rookie Natalie Meyer (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon) cleared 1.65 meters in the high jump to finish 10th out of 61 athletes.

Senior Elaine Abdulky (Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca) was Ithaca's lone event winner at the Bomber Quad. She was victorious in the weight throw with a heave of 13.91 meters.

The Bombers return to action Saturday, Feb. 8 at both BU and Brockport.
