VALENTINE RESULTS

BROCKPORT RESULTS

The St. John Fisher College women's track team and field team took part in two events over the weekend.  The Cardinals were in action this weekend alongside some of the top programs in the country at the Division I level at the Valentine Invitational in Boston, MA, while also taking part in the Golden Eagle Run Invite in Brockport, NY.

The added competition seemed to bring out the best in the Cardinals as many new records were established.

In Boston, Kaylee Zbytek continued her assault on Fisher's record books after tying the school record in the 800 with a finishing time of 2:24.86.  Sammy Van Gee set a new personal-best in the same event, crossing the finish in 2:31.86, while Julianna Holland was right on her heels, finishing in 2:38.57 for a new personal-best of her own.

Sydney Saccone shattered her own record in the 500 meter dash with a time of 1:22.04 and later teamed up with Chelsea Cleveland, Kaitlin Rizzo and Morgan Mastin to break another program-best, this time in the 4x400 relay as the Cardinals won their heat, crossing the line with a time of 4:10.03.

Allison Corretore also had a strong showing in the 60 meter hurdles, beating out several Division I competitors to finish 47th, out of 87 entries, with a time of 9.69.

On Saturday, Zbytek, Saccone, Mastin and Sarah Coon demolished the school-record in the distance medley relay and lowered their ECAC qualifying mark by 13 seconds after completing the event in 12:40.73.

Paige Willson continued to impress in the shot put, heaving her way to a fifth-place finish in Brockport with a distance of 11.48 meters.

In the triple jump, Megan Vona also captured a fifth-place finish after leaping 10.63 meters, while Lisa Knab took 10th overall in the high jump with a mark of 1.50 meters.  Jessica Locke finished in 11th with a measure of 1.45 meters.

Taylor Youngkrans's weight throw of 15.25 meters not only placed second in the meet, but also ranks her 37th in the nation and 11th overall in the ECACs.

The Cardinals will head to Ithaca next weekend for the Bomber Invite.
