Highlander’s Men’s Lax Stopped by Cazenovia, 18-4

HOUGHTON, N.Y. – In the second contest of the year for the men's lacrosse team, Sean Daigler (Elma, Ny, Iroquois) led the way with a career-high four goals in an 18-4 loss to Cazenovia on Monday on Burke Field. 

Joshua Haingray (Houghton, Ny, Houghton Academy) started the game and played the first three quarters in goal with Gabriel Browning (Aitkin, MN, Aitkin HS) playing the final 15. They each made nine stops on the night. 

To start the first quarter, the Wildcats scored three goals straight with an answer from Daigler with 2:07 left on the clock. Houghton went scoreless in the second quarter, had one goal in the third quarter and finished strong with two goals in the 4th while only allowing Cazenovia two goals in last 15 minutes of play.

The Wildcats leading scorer was Kyle Kingsley who carried the team with six goals. Eric Hanover added four goals while Vincent Halsey finished with three goals for Cazenovia.

The Wildcats start at 1-0 while Houghton moves to 0-2.  The Highlanders are back in action on Thursday, March 13 at home versus Alfred University at 7 p.m.
