No. 5 Cardinals Building Momentum at Jekyll Island

The nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College golf team currently sits in fifth place after a first round score of +5 at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational in Jekyll Island, GA..  The Cardinals are only four strokes behind the leader, LaGrange College.
 
The No. 5 ranked Cardinals were paced by Chris Blyth who sits in a tie for sixth place overall after firing a first-round 71 (-1), while Thad Wier closed out his round by eagling the 16th hole and birding the 18th for a 74 (+1).
 
Joe Feeney birdied 18 to finish the day at even par.  Hogan Cuny currently sits at +4 and Ryan McGinnis rounded out the scoring for Fisher with a first-round 77 (+5).
 
Fisher will look to improve its place in the standings when it returns to the course tomorrow morning.
