MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (March 13, 2014) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's golf team shot 352 on Thursday in Myrtle Beach, finishing 25 strokes behind tournament winner Baldwin Wallce University.
Freshman Frank Szucs finished with a team leading 82 while junior Cameron Hill came in second with an 83. The team competed on the par 72 Davis Love course which is part of Barefoot Resort and Golf. The 82 is the fifth lowest score of Szucs young career as he continues to establish himself as one of the most talented freshmen in the region.
Hill also picked up where he left off from the fall where he posted four rounds of sub 80 golf. Baldwin Wallce's freshman Matt Kersher took first place with a plus-five, 77, while on the team side, Elms College took second followed by Monmouth University.
The golf team will head back north to complete in the McDaniel College Invitational on March 29. Tee-times are still yet to be determined.
