Ithaca Moves To No. 22 In National Poll

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – After an 8-2 showing in the opening week of the season, the Ithaca College softball team has moved up in the national rankings. The National Fastpitch Coaches Association released its national poll on Wednesday, moving Ithaca to No. 22 in the country. The Bombers' previous high was 25th.

The Bombers won eight-straight games to start the year, matching a program record for longest win streak to start a season (1992). Senior Sam Bender went 4-1 with a 2.38 ERA and three complete games, while sophomore Laura Quicker earned a 1.88 ERA and a 2-0 record. Junior Francesca Busa leads the Bombers with a .385 batting average and senior Sydney Folk paces Ithaca with 10 RBI and five extra base hits.

The Bombers are back in action on Saturday, March 22 with a home doubleheader against Rensselaer. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
