RPI Halts No. 27 Stevens

East Brunswick, N.J. (March 2, 2014)- The No. 27 Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team was unable to overcome an early deficit on Sunday, as they fell to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institutre 6-1.
The loss drops Stevens to 1-3 while RPI moves to 2-0.
The Ducks found themselves in an early hole when they dropped all three doubles matches 9-8, 8-4, and 9-7 respectively. The loss at No. 2 was the first of the season for sophomore Matthew Heinrich and freshman Charles Drake.
RPI took control of the match when junior Brandon Mazzara beat Drake at No. 3, followed with a win at No. 2 for senior Jarrett Regier over sophomore Ben Foran.
The Ducks lone win of the match came at No. 1 when RPI's Matt LaBarre withdrew with an injury, giving the win to Heinrich. Both the No. 4 match between freshman Michael Feldman and McKinkley Grimes, and No. 5 between freshman Antonio Perich and Sherman Uyeno did not finish.
