Foglia and Tierney Earn WBCA Honorable Mention All-America Praise

Mary Kate Tierney have been named to the
Women's Basketball Coaches Association All-America Team.
Last month, Foglia was named to the Empire 8 First Team for the third consecutive season. She led Hartwick in minutes played (32.8), three-pointers made (50), free throws made (122), and assists (79) this season. She was also the team's second-leading scorer and second-leading rebounder with averages of 15 points and five rebounds per contest. Foglia ranked second in the Empire 8 Conference in three-point field-goal percentage (.391). She was fourth in the league in scoring and sixth in free-throw percentage (.792).
Foglia has led Hartwick in scoring in 14 of 28 games this season and has reached double figures in all but four games. She ranks fourth in scoring in Hartwick history with 1,540 points in her four seasons. She is second in career three-pointers with 162 and holds the program record for most free throw made (476).
Tierney, an All-Empire 8 First-Team selection, paced Ithaca in several categories this season. She had Bomber-bests of 13.7 points per game, 8.5 rebounds per game, 122 assists, 48 steals, 31 blocks, a three-point percentage of 43.1 (72-of-167) and a free throw percentage of 86.2 (56-of-65). She recorded 12 double-doubles in 2013-14 and added a triple-double of 14 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in Ithaca's Sweet 16 victory. Tierney was named the MVP of the Empire 8 Championship Tournament and earned all-tournament nods at the DePauw Amy Hasbrook Memorial Tournament in December.
Tierney, who transfered to Ithaca second semester of her sophomore season, peppers Ithaca's all-time and single-season top-10 lists. She set the school record for single-season three-pointers with 72 having surpassed the previous mark by 14, ranks tied for third in season assists with 122, sits tied for sixth in season rebounds with 264 boards and is sixth in season points with 426 scored. Tierney's 118 career treys rank her eighth all-time at Ithaca.
