ITHACA
The Ithaca College baseball team returned to action for the first time since its California trip with a 15-0 win over Cazenovia on Saturday afternoon at Hoy Field at Cornell University. The Bombers broke through for five runs in each of the sixth and seventh innings to build an insurmountable lead.

Senior all-American pitcher John Prendergast started and picked up the win, his third of the season, with six strikeouts in seven shutout innings. He allowed just five hits and one hit batter. He didn't issue a walk. Prendergast's earned-run average stands at 0.43 in 21 innings of work this season. Benji Parkes and Jimmy Wagner each pitched a scoreless inning in relief, and Wagner had two strikeouts.

The game was scoreless through four and a half innings before Ithaca took the lead in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI double by Luke Stark to bring in Cameron Oathout.

The five-run rally in the sixth was highlighted by a two-run single from Vinny Gneo. In the seventh, a two-run double from Tim Henry gave the Bombers an 11-0 lead. Four more runs came across in the eighth inning.

Henry was 3-for-6 to lead the way for Ithaca with three RBIs and a run scores. Colby Gee, Cam Oathout and Luke Stark each scored two runs. Gee, Yanchus and Stark had two hits each as Ithaca totaled 16 hits in the game.

STEVENS
The Stevens Institute of Technology baseball team split its CUNYAC doubleheader with the College of Staten Island on Saturday. Stevens took Game One, 2-1, but fell in the nightcap, 3-2.

The Ducks are now 8-3 overall and 4-2 in the CUNYAC, while Staten Island is 4-5 and 1-1.

Game One: Stevens 2, Staten Island 1
In the opener, sophomore Greg Jakusik tossed a complete game with 11 strikeouts for his first win of the season. Jakusik scattered three hits with three walks and only allowed one runner to reach second base after the Dolphins scored in the bottom of the second inning. The southpaw also retired the side in order four times.

Senior Curt Lowenstein delivers Stevens' game-winning hit in the fourth inning with a two-RBI single that scored junior Ryan Mannello and sophomore Jayson Yano.

In the frame, Yano drew a walk and moved up to third on a double by Mannello before Lowenstein stepped to the plate.

Senior Dan Allen doubled and walked in a 1-for-2 opener, while junior Brian Hennelly, sophomore Nicholas Sieber and freshman Michael Mule' all recorded base hits.

Game Two: Staten Island 3, Stevens 2
The Dolphins scored a pair of runs in their first at bat of the contest and held onto their lead until Stevens plated one in the third and fifth innings to knot the game at 2-2. Staten Island answered in the bottom of the fifth to salvage the split.

Mannello drove in both runs for the Ducks on two hits in four trips to the plate. In the third, Mannello's single brought Yano home and his bases loaded knock scored Hennelly in the fifth.

In the fifth, Hennelly led off the inning with a double before Allen reached on a walk and Yano followed with a single. After Mannello drove in the equalizer, Stevens' next three hitters were retired in order.

The Ducks had a chance to force extra innings with runners on the corners and one out. Stevens was unsuccessful on a squeeze attempt for the second out and flew out to end Game Two.

Yano picked up three hits in the night cap, while sophomore Marc Calleo batted 2-for-4.

Junior Peirce Marston suffered the loss in 4.2 innings pitched. Marston surrendered seven hits and struck out five with three earned runs. Senior Mark Poinsett and junior Gary Boardman each threw 2/3 innings and gave up one hit apiece.

ST. JOHN FISHER
The nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College baseball team used five home runs on the day to sweep the doubleheader versus Haverford College with wins of 13-2 and 10-4 to improve to 11-1 on the season.

Game 1: Fisher 13, Haverford 2
After a slow start for both teams and no score through the first four innings, the Cardinals would go on to score 13 runs over the final five innings to put the game out of reach. Senior Chris Roeder ignited the offensive outburst with his first career grand slam in the top of the fifth.

Cody Wiktorski started the fifth with a double, and Simmons would advance him to third on an infield single before advancing to second on a wild pitch. Mike Fahy would then walk to load the bases for Roeder, who parked his first home run of the season over the left field fence.

Haverford responded with single runs in the bottom of the fifth and sixth to cut the lead in half. Starting pitcher and All-American Justin D'Amato would exit the game in the bottom of the sixth with the bases loaded and two outs after back-to-back walks. Erin Moskal, relieving D'Amato, recorded the final out of the inning to shut the door on the Fords threat and keep it a 4-2 game. Fisher would respond in a big way, once again.

After Fahy and Roeder both grounded out to start the seventh, the Cardinals would send six straight batters to the plate. Flemister initiated the charge with a double, and sophomore Mike Roman capped it off with his first career home run. Sophomore Cam Allen would follow with a single, and Wiktorski would triple to give the Cardinals a 9-2 lead.
Wiktorski would also record his first career home run in the top of the ninth, who finished the day 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored. Roeder went 2-for-5 with four RBI and two runs scored. Senior Brad Rush had his best game of the season, going 4-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored.

D'Amato improved to 4-0, going 5.2 innings, striking out seven, and allowing two earned runs. Moskal threw 2.1 scoreless innings, yielding just one hit with two strikeouts. Sophomore Mitch Modlin would finish the game with a perfect ninth, striking out two.

Game 2: Fisher 10,  Haverford 4
The Cardinals, similar to how they started Game 1, waited until the middle frames to get going. This time, it would be from behind as the Fords took a 2-0 lead in the first inning.
Freshman Malcolm Kelsey would get Fisher on the board in the third to cut the Haverford lead in half with a SAC fly to score Flemister who led off with a single. Haverford would limit the damage to maintain a 2-1 lead until the Cardinals went on the attack again in the fifth.

Fahy led off the fifth with a double down the line. After a pitching change, Roeder singled through the left side to put runners on the corners. Flemister followed with a double down the line to score both runners. Kelsey continued his strong performance with a single, before Roman roped an opposite field single to make the score 4-3.

Once again, similar to Game 1, the Cardinals ran into trouble in the bottom of the fifth and resorted to strong relief pitching. This time, Fisher would turn to Shawn Corrigan. The senior would enter with bases loaded and one out, only to get the next two batters on a pop out and strikeout to keep the score 4-3.

Fisher would erupt for five runs over the final four innings, capped off by home runs from Flemister and Wiktorski. The three-run home run for Wiktorski in the ninth was his second of the day after he also had a ninth-inning shot in game 1.
Flemister finished 4-for-5 with four RBI to lead the offense. Kelsey and Roman both went 2-for-5 with an RBI and run scored each for the Cardinals.

Senior Sean Badger earned the win on the mound, going 4.1 innings, allowing three earned runs, and striking out three. Corrigan would earn the save, finishing the final 4.2 innings with one earned run on three hits.
