Ithaca 9, St. John Fisher 7
The Ithaca College women's lacrosse team (2-4, 1-0 Empire 8) rewrote an early four-goal deficit to outlast 11th-ranked and previously undefeated St. John Fisher (5-1, 0-1 Empire 8), 9-7, Saturday afternoon at Higgins Stadium. Ithaca trailed 5-1 15 minutes into the game, but held the Cardinals to two goals and scored eight of its own to claim the win in the Empire 8 opener.

Trailing 4-0, sophomore Ally Runyon netted a free-position goal at 16:36 to put Ithaca on the board. The Cardinals struck again at the 15-minute mark, but junior Molly Fischer and sophomore Riley Marion went unassisted before Fischer tallied on a free-position shot at 6:49 pulling the Bombers within one. St. John Fisher recorded the final goal of the first half to again pull ahead by two, 6-4.

Junior Delaney Gilson found Marion for a Bomber goal 1:15 into the second, but the Cardinals answered with a goal at 21:30 for a 7-5 gap. It was St. John Fisher's last score of the contest. Fischer was perfect in free-position attempts on the day, netting her second before senior Becky Guzzo scored the equalizer on a Marion feed 10 seconds later. The Bombers continued to dominate. Junior Niki Standera scored the game-winner on a free-position shot at 17:35. Runyon finalized all scoring at 16:16.

Junior Laura Scalzi, seniors Jenna Marchinetti and Anya Eckhardt and Runyon accounted for five caused turnovers in the final 15 minutes of play to help seal the victory. The win was Ithaca's first over a ranked opponent this season.

Rookie Emily Ross had a standout performance in goal for the Bombers stopping a season-best 14 shots. The Bombers shut down Fisher's free-position efforts. The Cardinals were 0-7 in free-position attempts, while Ithaca made good on 4-of-5 attempts.

St. John Fisher outshot Ithaca 27-17, won the draw count 11-7 and held a 13-10 edge in ground balls. The Bombers committed 15 turnovers to the Cardinals' nine.

Elmira 15, Houghton 8
The Elmira College women's lacrosse team (3-3) had seven players get into the scoring column as the Soaring Eagles cruised to a 15-8 victory over Houghton College (2-4). Ashton Hogan '15 had five of EC's 15 goals, giving her nine total in her last two games.

Elmira had no issues scoring in the first half as the Purple and Gold would put nine goals on the scoreboard in the first 30 minutes of play. Rebecca Matturo'14 got things started six minutes into the game with her sixth goal of the season. Houghton tied the game at one a few minutes later, but back-to-back goals from Hogan ignited a 5-0 EC run to put the Soaring Eagles on top 6-1.

The Highlanders would score two goals, separated by just 34 seconds, to make it a three-goal game, but that would be as close as Houghton would get as the Soaring Eagle offense recaptured their scoring touch down the stretch. Hogan would net her third and fourth goals of the half, which bookended a Marissa Mongillo '15 goal to put Elmira in front 9-4 after the first half of play.

The Soaring Eagles wasted little time increasing their lead even further as Hogan, Kelsey Quail '17, and Moorea Spoljaric '16 each scored within the first five minutes of the second half to make it a 12-4 game. From there, the Purple and Gold began to slow their pace, focusing more on ball-control and stopping Houghton's attack.

Spoljaric would trade goals with Houghton's Jennifer Zacchigna and Amanda Zacchigna to maintain Elmira's eight-goal lead as the clock ticked below 15 minutes to play. Sami Risi'14 would close out EC's scoring with her third goal of the season. Houghton would net two goals in the final 10 minutes of regulation to bring it to the 15-8 final score.

Joining Hogan with multiple goals on the afternoon were Spoljaric, who had three, Matturo, and Quail, who had two apiece. LeAnna Presler '14 played just over 43 minutes in the net, making seven saves while allowing just six goals in the win. Lindsay Wargo '17 came on in relief, her first appearance this season, and made three saves while allowing the other two goals.

The two Duck goals early in the second were tallied by Wilcox with assists going to Mastrogiacomo and Haubrich.

Hartwick was able to get within two after a tally with 8:47 on the clock, but the Ducks answered 41 seconds later when Hughes came through with her third goal of the game. Stevens was able to keep the Hawks off the board the rest of the way, and received goals from Rafferty and freshman Caroline DeLuca (Sayville, N.Y.) for the final score of 14-9.
